Wireless solution eliminates need for long cable runs, expandable to any size setup
Cumberland, RI (October 24, 2014)—Alto Professional (altoproaudio.com), the world’s leading innovator for live performance reinforcement products, today announced that their Stealth Wireless Modular Speaker System has been nominated for a 30th Annual Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Award. The prestigious TEC Awards were established in 1985 to honor outstanding achievement in professional audio production and product innovation.
The Alto Professional Stealth Wireless system adds wireless audio connectivity to any active loudspeaker, eliminating the need for long, complex cable runs, simplifying setup and teardown, saving time—all without any compromise in audio quality.
This self-contained kit provides a convenient wireless path to carry a stereo audio signal from the main mixing/listening location to the sound system. Stealth Wireless quickly adds wireless connectivity to nearly any active loudspeaker system. In addition, Stealth Wireless greatly reduces the setup time of a travelling or temporary sound system by eliminating the need for lengthy and unsightly cable runs that may otherwise interfere with the dance floor, patrons, or venue staff.
The system works perfectly well through walls, floors and ceilings, providing setup flexibility that far exceeds conventional hard-wired systems.
Stealth Wireless contains a single dual-channel transmitter and two single-channel receivers. The system can be set for mono or stereo use. Two XLR + balanced TRS 1/4″ combo inputs on the transmitter accommodate the main outputs from nearly any mixing board or console. Each of the receiving units has a single XLR output to send the signal to a powered speaker array or a traditional amplifier-and-speaker combo.
Operating in the reliable UHF band, Stealth Wireless can be set to any of 16 preset channels for interference-free operation. Internal squelch and mute circuits eliminate unwanted noise. The transmitter offers trim controls for each channel to ensure that sound quality remains uncompromised, as indicated by the system’s s/n ratio of greater than 100dB/A and a THD of <0.5% @ 1kHz. A mono/stereo mode switch is also provided. In stereo mode, the system will pre-configure the two receivers for left and right operation. A channel select knob and a series of indicator LEDs are present on each of the receiving units. Each of the three modules (transmitter + two receivers) is provided with an AC power adapter.
The Stealth Wireless Expander Pack provides two additional receivers for adding more loudspeakers to a system and providing increased coverage. The user may add as many expander packs as needed to accommodate any system size.
“We understand that to sound professionals, setup time and simplicity are of paramount importance. But there can be no reduction in audio quality for the sake of convenience. Only Stealth Wireless delivers exactly what these professionals demand—faster setup/teardown, more flexibility in system configuration, absolutely uncompromised audio quality and affordability. It’s just what they asked for,” said Bernard Werner, Director of Engineering, Alto Professional.
Hundreds of entries for nomination were reviewed and voted upon by an extensive panel of veteran sound and music industry professionals in the U.S. and abroad, according to NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants), the sponsor of the awards. The winners will be determined by online subscribers to Mix, Pro Sound News, Pro Audio Review, Electronic Musician, and members of professional audio and sound production organizations through online voting, which will take place this December.
The winners of the 30th Annual TEC Awards will be announced on Saturday evening, January 24, 2015 at the Anaheim Hilton during the NAMM Show.
